A Look At What's To Come

Books

Here is a list of the novels I've been working on. Right now, I'm focusing on my Monoliths series but I have plenty of other works at various stages in development.

MONOLITHS:
The Girl With Three Souls

In an attempt to escape her cruel mother, nineteen-year-old Cass has clambered onto the rickety bus to her dad's house in the country. She finds her way to an Irish stone circle and is promptly whisked away to Ríocht Na Síoga: The Kingdom of the Fairies.

There, she meets a roguish young man named 'Chase' and a fortune-telling fairy called 'Lula.' The three embark on an adventure to get home. But can Cass really run from her twisted past?

A novel with the aim of addressing dark subjects such as childhood abuse, trauma, and dissociative identity disorder through a fantastical lens. There is often a lack of respect given to those suffering from dissociative identity disorder in the media. I aim to spread awareness and love to the real-life victims affected through the character of Cass.

This book also delves into topics such as queer identity with a variety of fully fleshed-out LGBT characters.

A book that provides insight into subjects such as mental illness, trauma, queer identity, and the #MeToo movement in a world of folklore and Irish mythology.

MONOLITHS:
The Girl Who Moved On

Robin is adrift after the death of her best friend and secret lover, Lexie. Amid a drunken camping trip, she and her friends are transported to Ríocht Na Síoga: The Kingdom of the Fairies. Here, her friendships with Ashling and Callum will face the ultimate test as they undertake the task of locating Lexie's lost soul.

A sequel set in the same world but featuring a different cast of characters. This novel aims to delve into the reality of toxic friendships. Must we always speak kindly of the deceased? What if they caused us harm?

Once again, the themes of mental illness are explored, this time through the perspective of a loved one. Robin is mourning her girlfriend, who died by suicide. Throughout the story, as they journey through the fairylands, flashbacks provide insight into the events that led to Lexie's tragic death.

The intention behind this book is to offer a nuanced approach to the topic, aiming to demystify it and present the stark reality faced by those left behind.

Once again, this book thoroughly examines queer identity, with a focus on lesbian relationships and an exploration of the way men objectify and fetishize them.

Weightless Woman

Having eluded the oppressive grasp of her millionaire boyfriend, Clóda finds herself in a charming Irish town, utterly destitute. She remains tormented by dissociation and psychosis, haunted by the reverberations of her traumatic history.

Given the chance to thrive, she progressively rekindles her inner strength and sensuality. Along the way, she crosses paths with Julian, the charming town librarian, who plays a crucial role in her voyage of self-exploration.

This piece was composed as a direct response to the surge in popularity of works like "Fifty Shades of Grey," serving as a harsh critique of the romanticization of abuse within the context of erotic romance.

Described as a blend of romantic drama and erotica, this book aims to both challenge and uplift abuse survivors. It places a strong emphasis on themes of self-actualization and sexual liberation, offering a narrative that seeks to empower those who have experienced abuse.

Blood Cookies

In a city dominated by vampires, humans are cultivated as a source of sustenance, treated as mere livestock. From a young age, they are indoctrinated with the belief that humans lack souls.

Willow, the twelve-year-old daughter of Count Demochie, a vampiric aristocrat, and Henry, an eleven-year-old orphan eking out an existence in the slums, inhabit opposite ends of society's power structure. However, their paths fortuitously cross, and despite their shared powerlessness, their encounter sparks a unique connection.

Introducing my contribution to the teen vampire genre: "Blood Cookies." This novel unfolds within a gothic dystopia, serving as a stark reminder of how the education system can be manipulated into a tool of propaganda targeting young minds.

In this eerie world, both Willow and Henry have fallen victim to the insidious brainwashing of their society, conditioned to perceive each other as inferior beings. Yet, paradoxically, even within their respective social circles, they both experience a sense of alienation and exclusion.
